When the user changes the hour count using either the plus/minus buttons or the numeric keypad, the counter number animates with a vertical slide-and-fade transition. Incrementing the value causes the old number to slide up and out while the new number slides up and in from the bottom. Decrementing reverses this direction, sliding the numbers downward. This directional motion mimics a physical rolling wheel, providing intuitive spatial feedback.
