Why we built 60fps

Do you remember the last time an app caught your attention? Maybe it was the way the screen moved or the sound that played when you pressed a button. Those little things trigger something in our brain, making the experience delightful. It’s these small moments that make us feel connected to the app, turning a simple interaction into something memorable.

Back in 2022, we were creating product feature trailers, but finding those teasers was a challenge. After an event ended, the ads would disappear, becoming nearly impossible to track down. We wanted to capture that creativity and keep it all in one place. That’s where 60fps began.

Then, we realised the same thing happens with great app design. That’s why we expanded our focus to collect the best design details from apps around the world.

We’ve spent years noticing these small, delightful moments in apps. We love how thoughtful design can make everyday tasks feel special. But we also know that these details can be easy to miss, especially when everyone’s in a hurry to build the next big thing.

As Paul Stamatiou put it, "If you’re a designer, you need to master motion design. At 60fps, there are 58 frames between Mock A and Mock B that define the magic."

We’re design nerds at heart. We built 60fps so designers, engineers, and founders everywhere could fall in love with app design again. It’s a place to get inspired and bring that same magic to your own work.
